Is there any hard evidence for the afterlife?
Is there any hard evidence for the afterlife? A question answered, from James T, on Quora.
The short answer is “No.”Â
There’s no “hard evidence” but there is plenty of evidence nevertheless. Some could be considered as hard evidence – where it is the best or simplest explanation for what is going on.
No one has yet volunteered to have a cardiac arrest with the view of returning to their physical body to report back. Hardly surprising really…
What evidence there is
The evidence therefore is anecdotal or circumstantial. It is either supplied through mediums, psychics, evidence of past lives, NDE, paranormal investigations and a few others.
Taken as a whole these are all pointing in the same direction and provide plenty of evidence to indicate there is more going on than meets the eye.
It comes down to reason and belief. And it works both ways, for neither is there hard evidence that there is no afterlife after death.Â
Personally I not only believe in the afterlife (through personal experience) I also think the evidence that is there makes it a better than fair bet that it exists.
If you want to look at some of the evidence, take a read of my book, Life and Death: Making Sense of It. Alternatively read of my article, Has Science Proved the Afterlife, or Near-Death Experience Overview. I am currently working on a new book about this, with the working title: Evidence for the Afterlife.
