What happens when you die question comes up a lot.
I can tell you what I have researched and therefore believe.
Yes there is an afterlife. We are spiritual beings.
The evidence from Near-death studies, children recalling past lives and the work of mediums all help to convince me of the reality of the afterlife.
If you study the matter you will see that it makes more sense to our existence than if there is no afterlife.

Well you are entitled to your belief – and in many respects, with such matters, belief is the best we can hope for within our physical limitations.
What you might consider is that there is no need to go to the Other Side looking for souls. They are on this side already. Consider you are a soul having a physical body – your Earthsuit – that allows you the experience being here in this world.
“Solid proof!” I don’t know what your version of solid proof is. I don’t use such words in my article or book. But in my Life and Death book, I do offer the findings of research in the areas associated with afterlife – that I discussed in the article. And these do give validation to the existence of soul.
You have to make your own mind up about what you believe. Meanwhile I couldn’t disagree more with your notion re “some doors should remain closed” – that is what most of us are already believing and it is why so many of us live in ignorance.
