Can the spirit of the dead help the living ones?
Can the spirit of the dead help the living ones? A question I answered on Quora.
Yes of course, as I see it, but only with nudges.
A couple of things to say here. When we die we do not become the “spirit of the dead.” That sounds like something out of a horror movie. We simply return to being our more natural selves – in our etheric bodies.
Believe me, if anything, this is the land of the dead, being in physical bodies with all their limitations.
We will of course want to help our loved ones and friends from the Other Side, but, and this is important, this is not some game we are all playing. We are here to learn something, to find out something, and to give something. We are on a spiritual journey, and we have to take each step under our own steam – than rely on help from the Other Side.
So, from the Other Side, we may drop gentle nudges, little clues, a little helping hand. But, in most circumstances, that should be it.
I hope that helps to answer your question.
Have a read of my book, Life and Death: Making Sense of It, if you want more thoughts on this.
G.W. response (April 2022)
Complete and utter nonsense. Every single word.
F.O’N. response
On the contrary, such an arrogant response only serves to underline prejudice and ignorance on such matters.
G.W. response
None of this stuff is true or real. This is a simple obvious objective fact. What is truly arrogant is the idea that you can perceive aspects of reality which utterly contradict the findings of every scientist who has ever lived. This stuff simply is not true. Not one word of it.
F.O’N. response
Are you really sure that my take on reality “utterly contradict the findings of every scientist who has ever lived?” It’s a bit of a stretch so who are you trying to kid, me or yourself?
Reading between the lines, I’m guessing, you are a signed-up member of the religious sect of scientism. As you’ll probably know, it believes everything must fit into the materialistic/mechanistic paradigm or, if not, it is okay to rubbish and deny it, or deny anything that challenges this belief.
So, no room at the inn for my spiritual views, NDE, ESP, reincarnation, the paranormal – the list goes on… It’s plain naive to discount these, so-called, “fringe” areas of study, out of hand, but they do get discounted, and out of hand.
But here’s the rub: Never mind what’s going on, on the fringes; quantum mechanics (in the backyard of scientism) should in itself be enough to throw a spanner in the works of your bubble – and make you question if you really know that “None of this stuff is true or real.” Can you be so cock sure!?
Are you sure that tapping on the wall is just the wind or the waterpipes, and not something else? Are you sure that’s really Venus in the sky and not something from another dimension? It sure looks to be moving…
