It can really help in understanding how the zodiac signs are interpreted by taking into consideration their matrix.

Zodiac Signs Matrix

Built on the four elements (Triplicities), modes of change (Quadruplicities) and Polarities, each sign is therefore unique in its arrangement and interpretation. It also provides a reason why there are only 12 signs of the zodiac, and also the order in which they appear.

If you are, perchance, looking into your Star (Sun) Sign, here or elsewhere, you might find it helpful, in further understanding how it is interpreted, if you make a note of the matrix of your sign before (or after) you visit it. Look it up in the following:

 

Triplicities or the four elements

The following provides some example keywords

Fire

Keywords: enthusiasm, ardent, keen, aspiring, etheric, leader.

Earth

Keywords: stable, practical, cautious, dependable, physical, builder.

Air

Keywords: inquisitiveness, intellect, conjuring ideas, mentality, communicator.

Water

Keywords: nourishing, emotional, unstable, sensitive, fluid, nurturer.

 

Quadruplicities or modes of change

The following provides some example keywords

Cardinal

Keywords: initiating, directing, leading, moving forward. Like breathing in.

Fixed

Keywords: stabilising, resisting change, fixing, settling, inertia, like holding breath.

Mutable

Keywords: adapting, following, fluid, changeful, flowing, versatile. like breathing out.

 

Polarities or opposites

The following provides some example keywords

Positive

Keywords: extraverted, self-expressive, outgoing, masculine

Negative

Keywords: introverted, self-reflective, ingoing, feminine.
