Virgo Star Sign

Virgo Star Sign

Virgo Signature | 400x72 imageIf you were born between August 23rd and September 22nd you were born when the Sun was passing through the sign of Virgo.

As you will probably know, this sign is represented by the Virgin, suggesting a theme that is feminine, youthful, discriminating and pure, yet ready for life.

The typical Virgo will tend to be a gentle, modest, prudent and a quiet person, yet also a perfectionist, seeking high standards, particularly of themselves, in their work, their health and hygiene.

If you are a typical Virgo, you will be reserved, conventional, fastidious and discriminating in nature. You’ll tend to have an analytical and pragmatic mind – an appreciation for the workings, the order and practical approaches to things. Virgos are known for their attention to detail, for a precise and exacting application of themselves.

As a Virgo you are inclined to be diligent, careful, tidy, systematic and methodical in your approach to life.

You’ll have concern for the “nuts and bolts,” a “taking care of the small things” (the pennies) so the bigger things (the pounds) can look after themselves. You’ll want things to run smoothly and efficiently.

Considering your relationships

As a typical Virgo you’ll be inclined to be reserved, to hold back, to be shy in social interaction. Deep down, however, you can be very friendly, generous, surprisingly intimate and as giving as the next person. It just takes time for you to open up with people.

You may be a modest person, but because of your inclination towards seeking perfection, you are inclined to aim high and look for this in your relationships – friendships and importantly partners.

Not finding this can leave you either on a mission to change your expectations or to change the people or person you are with. You may be accused of nagging – or to be carrying feelings of disappointment in friends and partners, and possibly life in general – so just watch out for this…

Taking a look at your likely vocational interests

The Virgo needs to find their place within the community. They will likely develop a strong work ethic.

You’ll tend to enjoy following a conventional direction for work, where routine and attention to detail is a major part of what you do. Virgos are considered the crafts-person of the zodiac, and it is likely you’ll prefer to work with your hands.

You’ll likely want to specialise, or be an expert, in matters that provide most interest or nourishment for you. Scientific research, health and hygiene are often of special interest to Virgos.

It is important for you to be of service in some way – most probably through your work/vocation, but can be through desire to do charitable work.

Be aware that Virgos have a tendency to be modest and under-stated in their endeavours. This is endearing but can mean they may appear to others as unambitious; and sometimes they can get overlooked as a result. If you recognise this in yourself, it is important for you not to be (or become) servile in your need to serve, or in finding your place within your community.

And what about your challenges?

As a typical Virgo you can be overly fussy, overly concerned with small matters, overly modest and, if not careful, be finding yourself labelled as, as “dull as dishwater.”

You also need to control your inclination to worry. You can probably worry over, what others would see as, minor issues.

Also be careful about becoming pessimistic, tending to focus on what can go wrong than right – carrying the “glass is half-empty” view of yourself, and your lot in the world.

And also watch out for your tendency to be overly critical, and try to become more constructive in your criticisms, especially of others, as much as of yourself.

A reminder…

I hope you have found the above comments helpful. But, here’s a reminder that your star sign can only ever provide a useful but very incomplete overview of what makes you tick.

To better understand yourself, through astrology, you need to get hold of your birth-chart.

Your birth-chart (or natal-chart), set up for the time, date and place of your birth, will include all the major planets, zodiac signs and astrological houses, to provide you with a huge amount of insight into your life’s potential.

You will find websites that offer this service – some are for free too. I assure you this will be an adventure – certainly a bigger adventure than just relying on what sign the Sun was in when you were born.

And note, this is why when reading through your star sign I use the term “typical.” It is because you will only be typical of your sign if other factors, such as the position of your planets, support it.

I wish you well with your adventure…
