Capricorn Star Sign
If you were born between December 21st and January 19th, you were born when the Sun was passing through the Earth sign of Capricorn.
The sign is represented by the mountain goat.
To get some insight into this image, think the obvious, mountains to climb, reaching for something higher, and the preparation that goes into achieving such goals.
It is important for the ideal Capricorn to be good at something and to earn recognition for their efforts. They seek to improve their status through their honest achievements. That said, they are also inclined to be modest and/or under-stated in their achievements.
As a typical Capricorn you will be a practical, cautious, often shy, patient and a mature person – regardless of your age. You will tend to be hard-working, industrious, tenacious, goal-setting and ambitious.
The ideal Capricorn person will have a constructive and responsible attitude in the world. They are usually conventional in their ambitions and values. They will tend to rely on tried and tested ways; doing things by the book.
Capricorn is a business-like sign. Ruled by Saturn, it is one of the most serious signs of the zodiac, and typically you will have a serious and introspective side to your nature. Although that doesn’t preclude you having a good sense of humour. With their dry wit, as a typical Capricorn you can be very entertaining and fun to be with.
Considering your relationships
Being a Capricorn, you are inclined to be cautious and to follow a conventional path in getting to know people. The same applies in forming closer ties and likewise with expressing your affections – e.g., you are less likely to feel comfortable hugging people, and more at home shaking a person’s hand. Unless convention suggests otherwise, you can be a bit formal.
In love, as a Capricorn, you will most often seek to follow a traditional or conventional role – on-route towards possible marriage.
You’ll no doubt want to know your responsibilities and boundaries, as to who does what, in a close relationship – and possibly go to some lengths to protect your interests where finances and security are concerned.
Taking a look at your likely vocational interests
As a typical Capricorn you will naturally be ambitious – although you may not see it that way. You’ll like to plan and know where you are heading. And in that you will tend to follow a conventional route to success. Material security is also likely to play a big part of what drives you, and the life choices you make.
Capricorns are best suited to roles that require dedication, organisation, application and responsibility, as in teaching, business management, in politics or for instance in the civil service.
As a Capricorn you have your own inner mountain to climb. What this looks like and how well you can climb it will depend upon you and the nature of the goal or goals you have set for yourself – whether achievable or not. Time will tell.
And what about your challenges?
In context with the mountain theme, bear in mind that as a Capricorn you can be hard on yourself, having a tendency to work hard towards achieving your peak of perfection. Failing or compromising for the Capricorn can be very hard, invoking low self-esteem or a person lacking in confidence.
Worse-case scenario, the Capricorn is prone to becoming pessimistic about life and can be prone to depression and/or developing an inferiority complex about their abilities and their value.
If things are going this way you may need to re-establish love for yourself, revisit your intentions, get better prepared, and take smaller steps on your climb, for now at least…
Consider as a Capricorn you are required to develop patience combined with a clear direction of travel, together with a knowing (and acceptance) of yourself and your limits.

A reminder…
I hope you have found the above comments helpful. But, here’s a reminder that your star sign can only ever provide a useful but very incomplete overview of what makes you tick.
To better understand yourself, through astrology, you need to get hold of your birth-chart.
Your birth-chart (or natal-chart), set up for the time, date and place of your birth, will include all the major planets, zodiac signs and astrological houses, to provide you with a huge amount of insight into your life’s potential.
You will find websites that offer this service – some are for free too. I assure you this will be an adventure – certainly a bigger adventure than just relying on what sign the Sun was in when you were born.
And note, this is why when reading through your star sign I use the term “typical.” It is because you will only be typical of your sign if other factors, such as the position of your planets, support it.
I wish you well with your adventure…
