Pisces Star Sign

Pisces Star Sign

Pisces Signature | 400x72 imageIf you were born between February 19th and March 20th, you were born when the Sun was passing through the Water sign of Pisces.

This sign is represented by fishes linked together and usually swimming in opposite directions.

To get some insight into this image, think on swimming in an ocean of possibilities, and the need to pull things together in a steady direction, rather than struggling with oneself going in opposite directions, and being pushed along by the tide.

If you are a typical Piscean, you’ll be inclined to be impressionable, sensitive, emotional, dreamy, romantic and a peace-loving person.

Like the ocean in mood, you will tend to feel things intensely – picking up on others’ feelings as much as your own.

You may, alternatively, endeavour to cover up your sensitivity and seek to appear tough skinned – impervious to others and their needs. At heart though, you can’t help being a deeply caring, sympathetic and compassionate person. You’ll need to be devoted to something or someone.

Considering your relationships

While a typical Pisces will often choose to spend time on their own, in retreat, they will always want to return to be in the company of others.

This is a giving sign, and as a Piscean you will be at your happiest when you can care for, or serve, others in some way. You are likely to be very open and friendly, easy to like. The Piscean can be very adaptable to changing circumstances, but also vulnerable to being submissive and getting let down or hurt in their relationships, in their expectations.

Taking a look at your likely vocational interests

Career-wise, innately creative and imaginative, as a Piscean you will tend to have an appreciation of the arts, notably video/film, poetry and music.

It is also just as likely that you will feel the need to be of some kind of service to humanity. You can be drawn towards the helping professions, in counselling, in nursing or equally as a home help, carer or shop assistant.

That said being highly adaptable, with a vivid imagination, you are able to play and be many characters – a quality very appropriate for acting. The movies, its fantasy and escapism can be a strong pull on the Piscean psyche. Others are likely to be attracted towards becoming writers, artists or musicians.

You’ll very probably like being out in nature, will tend to love big skies, the ocean, and wild and unspoilt places. It is important for you to be able to escape, to get away from the hustle and bustle of the world, either to have a favourite place to escape to, or perhaps some kind of retreat. Or it might alternatively be through a practice such as meditation and yoga. There is likely to be a spiritual or religious motive, or a seeking of bodily refinement (as in concern for fitness and diet), behind such endeavours. “Refinement” is a key theme for Pisces.

And any of these interests and preferences may open or provide a direction for a career – e.g. love of nature to a vocation in environmental work.

And what about your challenges?

Unfortunately, sometimes the need for “escape” is found less through natural or spiritual avenues, and rather through other means, such through the misuse of drugs, alcohol, living in a fantasy, and/or at the exploitation of others.

The Piscean personality tends to be changeable, and can be indecisive and vulnerable, tending to flow with the tide, and, if not watchful, in danger of drifting, like flotsam, aimlessly through life – and needing others for a steer or a rudder to lean on.

If this is you, you will need to develop strength and direction from within yourself, as your external life may not always provide it for you. It will however be a mirror of where you are at in yourself, and thereby you can learn to see what is going on and thereby find a way to change it.

A reminder…

I hope you have found the above comments helpful. But, here’s a reminder that your star sign can only ever provide a useful but very incomplete overview of what makes you tick.

To better understand yourself, through astrology, you need to get hold of your birth-chart.

Your birth-chart (or natal-chart), set up for the time, date and place of your birth, will include all the major planets, zodiac signs and astrological houses, to provide you with a huge amount of insight into your life’s potential.

You will find websites that offer this service – some are for free too. I assure you this will be an adventure – certainly a bigger adventure than just relying on what sign the Sun was in when you were born.

And note, this is why when reading through your star sign I use the term “typical.” It is because you will only be typical of your sign if other factors, such as the position of your planets, support it.

I wish you well with your adventure. If you get really keen to learn more, do consider getting hold of my book; Learn to Read Your Birthchart in 5 Steps.
