He’s at it again!
Adys 2017 London Marathon Update – five years on!
Fundraiser and marathon runner Adrian Stohr continues his journey as he sets his sights on another year of challenges and fundraising… for his favourite charity.
His last London Marathon
This year will see Adrian doing his very last London Marathon. It will be a very emotional one too. Over the years, since 2013, he has pounded the streets of London for his special Charity Children with Cancer UK who, he says “gave me a second chance in life to put things right.”
This year Adrian will have completed 6 marathons and 8 half marathons. His endeavours won’t stop with the last London Marathon however. He hopes to finally get to skydive, after also climbing the O2 in the coming months. [ Adys 2017 London Marathon Update ] [ Adys 2017 London Marathon Update ]
He’s come a long way
All this activity was driven when back in 2011 he had to make harsh decisions as he was diagnosed clinically obese and was on a thin line, of a heart attack or stroke, that could potentially be fatal at any time. [ Adys 2017 London Marathon Update ]
He then made big headlines in the media and was filmed by BBC Sport as one of the inspiring runners of the 2013 London Marathon after losing 8 stone in twelve months to prepare for the run.
You may recall, Some Inspiration ran a series of posts on Adrian back in 2013 – check out here.

Adrian says, his “fundraising just gets bigger and bigger and I am now in my third year of organising The Black tie and Posh Frocks Charity Ball to be held at The Stoke by Nayland Golf Spa Hotel in Suffolk. The interest has just become big, so big that I dedicate a lot of my time to make sure I get it right.” He’s getting sponsors too: “This year I am lucky and honoured to be supported by Force8 Security Services, Stoke by Nayland Hotel Golf Spa, and DL Designs.”
